Kadir Has Foundation was founded by Kadir Has and his wife Rezan Has in 1991.
The establishment of the foundation is based up on the motto of Nuri Has – the father of Kadir Has: “Building one school saves one thousand men from entering prison.”
Kadir Has, who has never forgotten those words of his father, decided to establish a foundation to realize this beautiful thought. After the prepreations, starts the work for the establishment of the foundation.
The foundation deed, which had been approved by Istanbul 25th Notary Public on July 19th 1990, was registered by Istanbul Kartal Civil Court of First Instance on January 31st, 1991. Having completed its establishment, Kadir Has
Foundation gains the status of "Foundation working for the public benefit" upon the resolution no. 92 / 2779
of Council of Ministers on February 23rd, 1992.
